Financial Donations
In a time of declining investment yields, investment into youth through NorthStar have a greater yield than ever as we continue to leverage your gift with more volunteers, in-kind services, and Foundation grants. We have a variety of options available to you for financial contribution to NorthStar.
Annual Fund:
Donations to our annual fund will enable us to balance our budget in all aspects of the ministry. This is always a general need and is warmly accepted in addition to any contribution made to another area of the ministry.
Paul and Val make up the fulltime "staff" of NorthStar and have committed their lives to impacting the lives of kids through this ministry. Sponsoring the staff will take pressure off of the other aspects of the ministry budget and will cover basic costs such as staff salary, insurance and office expenses.
NorthStar Soccer Club offers participants a full soccer experience through the Mid-Alabama Recreational Soccer league (MARS) each fall and spring at a very reduced cost. The small fee that each player's family pays includes practices twice per week, games on the weekends, tournament experience, transportation to practices and certain away games, volunteer coaches, uniforms, and trophies awarded at the end of the season. NorthStar Soccer Club also has other program-related expenses that rely on donations from corporate or individual donors.

Camp NorthStar Camper Sponsorship:
Camp NorthStar receives much of its program financial support from grants received from foundations and corporations. However, the need for individual camper sponsorship continues to grow. Without these sponsorships, we won't have campers, and without campers, we can't have camp!
- $600 will sponsor a child for the entire summer
- $300 will cover half of the summer
- $100 will cover one week
Donate a scholarship today and be a part of giving a child positive life direction in a matter of one summer!
Volunteer Opportunities
As an organization offering multiple programs throughout the year, opportunities for short and long-term volunteering are always available. Our programs are seasonal, and therefore the need for volunteers differs depending on the time of year.
- School year:
- Afterschool program volunteers
- Soccer coaches/assistants
- Tutors and/or mentors
- Summer:
- Camp NorthStar counselors (high school graduates and older)
- Camp NorthStar "Leaders-in-Training" Team (LIT's - high school students)
- Camp NorthStar Skills Teachers (based on any of the activities offered)
- NorthStar Bible Camp Teachers
- Bible Camp Teacher Assistants
- Year Round:
- Administrative volunteers
- Facilities work on the NorthStar Center
We are also welcome to any small groups or outside organizations willing to host/assist with one-time events with our kids. Contact the NorthStar Office for more information or to talk to Paul or Val about setting up an event or activity.
